Crowe (3-5) vs. 0-8 but still having fun (2-6) – Wednesday, July 31, 2019

Crowe, the #13 seed, matched up against the #16 seed, 0-8 but still having fun in this Quarter-Finals game.  Crowe had two games this week. Wes Higdon is the goalkeeper credited with the shutout for Crowe. Helping on the offense, Dion Meggs and Ronaldo Misrasi both scored in this playoff win for Crowe. Crowe played again this week so check out the recaps below to see how they did.  0-8 but still having fun is done for the season and will regroup to return and dominate next season.

Monty’s Maniacs (2-5-1) vs. Uptake United (2-5) – Wednesday, July 31, 2019

It was an exciting Quarter-Finals matches, in which the #14 seed, Monty’s Maniacs, squeaked by with a 1-point win against the #15 seed, Uptake United. The losing team still had notable players including Sagar Mungole, who scored one goal for Uptake United. Monty’s Maniacs had two games this week. Ludwig Gerdes leads Monty’s Maniacs this season in scoring and added 2 goals to their stats this week bringing Ludwig Gerdes’s personal total to 2.  Uptake United is done for the season following this playoff loss. LPSE (8-0) vs. Monty’s Maniacs (2-5-1) – Wednesday, July 31, 2019

LPSE, the #1 seed, took on Monty’s Maniacs, the #14 seed, in this Quarter-Finals game. The last time these two teams met in week 5, LPSE won 4-0. The results weren’t much different this time around.  LPSE came ready for a double header. Both matches were victories and increased their total goals scored to 34. Colin Gainer is the goalkeeper credited with the shutout for LPSE. Helping on the offense, Ronaldo was among those who scored in this playoff win for LPSE. Monty’s Maniacs had a double header this week. They struggled in this match, and they now sit in 14th place in the standings. Puppy Luv (7-1) vs. Crowe (3-5) – Wednesday, July 31, 2019

In this Quarter-Finals game, the #2 seed, Puppy Luv, took on the #13 seed, Crowe.  Crowe had two games this week. This was the tougher match of the two, and they sadly lost 2-0. Crowe has now been eliminated from this playoff loss. Puppy Luv had two games this week. Both matches were victories putting them at a 4-game winning streak. Josh is the goalkeeper credited with the shutout for Puppy Luv. Helping on the offense, Lauren Schillinger was among those who scored in this playoff win for Puppy Luv. Puppy Luv will play next week in the next round of playoffs.

Taking Shots on Wednesdays (4-3) vs. Man Chest Hair United (4-2-2) – Wednesday, July 31, 2019

It was an exciting Quarter-Finals games, in which the #7 seed, Taking Shots on Wednesdays, squeaked by with a 1-point win against the #6 seed, Man Chest Hair United.Taking Shots on Wednesdays had a double header. This was the better played match, which helped them claim their #7 rank in the standings table. Justin Zylberman leads Taking Shots on Wednesdays this season in scoring and added another goal to their stats this week bringing Justin Zylberman’s personal total to 4. Man Chest Hair United really struggled to get it going on offense in this one, scoring fewer than their average of 1.9 GPG this year. Next up for Taking Shots played in the second round of games this week, see how they   Man Chest Hair United has been eliminated and will have to return next year.

bswift (4-3) vs. INDY Team #5 – Wednesday, July 31, 2019

In this Quarter-Finals game, INDY Team #5 played bswift and won 3-1.  This week, bswift was fired up for a double header. Adeboye Obebe leads bswift this season in scoring and added 2 goals to their stats this week bringing Adeboye Obebe’s personal total to 8. Gregory Bernstein scored the only goal for INDY Team #5 to save them from a shutout. Next up for bswift is a coveted bye week.  INDY Team #5 has been eliminated following their loss in the playoffs.

LPSE (8-0) vs. bswift (4-3) – Wednesday, July 31, 2019

In this Quarter-Finals game, the #1 seed, LPSE, took on the #7 seed, bswift. bswift had two games this week. The game ended in 4-0 in favor of LPSE. In contrast to their other game, the defense crumbled in critical moments. The losing team still had notable players including Adeboye Obebe, who tallied two goals for bswift. LPSE came ready for a double header. Impressively, they won both matches helping to boost them to the #1 rank in the standings.  Helping on the offense, Sharief El-Gabri was among those who scored in this playoff win for LPSE.  bswift is done for the season following this loss.  Next up for LPSE is a coveted bye week.

Puppy Luv (7-1) vs. Taking Shots on Wednesdays (4-3) – Wednesday, July 31, 2019

No one expected this Quarter-Finals games to be such a close one. Puppy Luv, the #2 seed just squeaked by in this 1-point game to beat the #7 seed, Taking Shots on Wednesdays. Taking Shots on Wednesdays had two games this week. The game could have gone either way, and they now sit in 7th place in the standings. Justin Zylberman scored the only goal for Taking Shots on Wednesdays to prevent the shutout. Puppy Luv had a double header. Both matches were victories giving them a 4-game winning streak. Peter was among those who scored in this playoff win for Puppy Luv, putting one shot past the Taking Shots on Wednesdays goalkeeper, Brandon. Taking Shots on Wednesdays is eliminated follow their loss and will have to look to next season for a shot at the championship.  Next up for Puppy Luv is game in the second round of playoffs.

Suck My Kick (6-1-1) vs. CRA (1-6) – Wednesday, July 31, 2019

In this Quarter-Finals game, the #3 seed, Suck My Kick, took on the #17 seed, CRA. CRA were unable to get rolling in terms of scoring in this one, and came short of making it onto the scoreboard. This is the second week in a row Suck My Kick took home the win. Jac is the goalkeeper credited with the shutout for Suck My Kick. Helping on the offense, Steven Pruim was among those who scored in this playoff win for Suck My Kick.  CRA will have to wait until next season for a shot at the championship follow the loss.  Suck My Kick will play Grass Kickers next week in the next round of playoffs.

Grass Fairies (5-2) vs. Genslerites (0-6-1) – Wednesday, July 31, 2019

Grass Fairies, the #4 seed, matched up against the #18 seed, Genslerites in this Quarter-Finals game. The last time these two teams met in week 3, Grass Fairies won 3-1. No surprise here, the results were very similar this time.  Grass Fairies continued their winning streak this week and are officially on fire. Edward  was among those who scored in this playoff win for Grass Fairies, putting two shots past the Genslerites goalkeeper. Grass Fairies will play NCSA in the next round of playoffs. Genslerites have had a rough season. It’s week 8 and they’ve only scored a total of 3 goals. Peter scored the only goal for Genslerites to get their team on the board.  Genslerites is done for the season following the loss.

NCSA (3-4) vs. AECOM United (4-2-1) – Wednesday, July 31, 2019

Heading into this Quarter-Finals games, AECOM United were coming off their top offensive game of the season, scoring 99 goals last week. They were the #5 seed facing the #11 seed, NCSA. With their higher rank and momentum from last week, AECOM United went into this game thinking they would be going on to with a final score of 1-0, NCSA grabbed this W. The two MVPs in this close match were the goalkeeper for NCSA, Margo Camp, who had a shutout, and Ben Berube who scored the only goal of the game.  AECOM United will need to regroup for next season following the playoff loss. Next up for NCSA is a playoff matchup against Grass Fairies.

Grass Kickers (3-4-1) vs. PWSoccer (3-4) – Wednesday, July 31, 2019

In this Quarter-Finals game, the #10 seed, Grass Kickers, took on the #11 seed, PWSoccer. PWSoccer didn’t have their best stuff on the offensive end in this game, but they’ve had 10 overall goals this season.  PWSoccer is done for the year and will have to come back for another shot at the championship. Patrick Lass is the goalkeeper credited with the shutout for Grass Kickers. Helping on the offense, Matt Stern was among those who scored in this playoff win for Grass Kickers. Grass Kickers plays NCSA in the next round of playoffs.
