Yeovil (4-1-3) vs. Velvet Taquitos (3-5-1) – Tuesday, August 20, 2019
Yeovil were coming off their top offensive game of the season, scoring 5 goals last week. Additionally, they were the higher ranked #3 seed playing the #10 seed, Velvet Taquitos. The game went to penalty kicks after a 1-1 tie during regulation time. They took the win in penalty kicks 5-4 to advance to the next round of playoffs. Fernandez scored the team’s only goal during regulation, keeping their team on the board. Yeovil was eliminated following this round two loss. Legendz (3-5-1) vs. Benchwarmer FC (5-3) – Tuesday, August 20, 2019
In this exciting 1-point Quarter-Finals games, Legendz, the #10 seed upset the #5 seed, Benchwarmer FC with a final score of 3-2. Luke Van Engen leads Legendz this season in scoring and added 2 goals to his stats this week bringing his personal total to 4. Owen also scored to get the team to three in the game. The losing team still had notable players including Scott Gemmell and Shane Decker, who both put in one goal for Benchwarmer FC. Thunder (8-1) vs. Legendz (3-5-1) – Tuesday, August 20, 2019
In this Semi-Finals game, the #1 seed, Thunder, took on the #10 seed, Legendz. Legendz had a double header this week. This was the tougher match of the two, and they sadly lost 3-0. Thunder also had a double header this week. Both matches were victories putting them at a 6-game winning streak. Juan Henriquez is the goalkeeper credited with the shutout for Thunder. Helping on the offense, Efren and Raul scored in this playoff win for Thunder. Legendz has now been eliminated and must wait for next season for another shot at the championship. IRI BIG DATA BIG KICKS (5-3-2) vs. Velvet Taquitos (3-5-1) – Tuesday, August 20, 2019
It was an exciting Semi-Finals matchup, in which the #6 seed, IRI BIG DATA BIG KICKS, squeaked by with a 1-point win against the #10 seed, Velvet Taquitos in overtime. This week, IRI BIG DATA BIG KICKS came ready for a double header. This was the better played match, and they took home the win 1-0. The two MVPs in this close match were the goalkeeper for IRI BIG DATA BIG KICKS, Adam, who had a shutout, and Paige Ullery who scored the only goal of the game. The game could have gone either way, but only one team could advance to the next round. IRI BIG DATA BIG KICKS played in the championship next, see how they did below! Velvet Taquitos was eliminated following their semi-final loss.

In this Championship Game, the #1 team, Thunder played the #6 team, IRI BIG DATA BIG KICKS, for the coveted Chicago Sport and Social Club long-sleeve champ shirts to forever capture their moment of glory. Thunder took home the win in triumphant fashion with a 5-2 final score. Kyle Breitenbach was the star player for IRI BIG DATA BIG KICKS this week. They scored all two goals for them. IRI BIG DATA BIG KICKS went from the #6 at the end of the season to the championship game, which is a victory in itself. Although they lost, they had a great playoff run and they have next season to look forward to. Thunder had a 5-game winning streak coming into the game and stayed hot in this game. Efren and Chris lead Thunder to the win, adding 2 goals to their stats this week bringing Efren ‘s personal total to 6. Ben also scored in the game to get the team to their victorious score of five. Congratulations to Thunder on a great season and their championship win! We hope to see this squad return to defend their title.
