Yeovil (3-1-2) vs. Legendz (1-4-1) – Tuesday, August 6, 2019
Yeovil absolutely dominated this game in shut out fashion against Legendz with a final score of 4-0. This is the second week in a row Yeovil took home the win. Paul Illuzzi racked up a hat trick to spearhead the club’s offense. Yeovil finished the regular season in 4th place, and they will play Muchas Ganas in the playoffs next week. Legendz were unable to get rolling in this one and couldn’t seem to find the back of the net. It was a rough regular season for Legendz, who finished as the 12th place seed. They’ll face INDY Team #11 in the first-round next week.
INDY Team #11 (4-1-1) vs. Soccer Scrubs (3-2-1) – Tuesday, August 6, 2019
INDY Team #11 put on a show on both sides of the pitch against Soccer Scrubs with a final score of 2-0. INDY Team #11 are heating up with two wins in a row. Boyce Oudersluys scored one goa. The club’s goalkeeper, Daniel Keener, is credited with the shutout. Soccer Scrubs struggled to get it going on offense in this game and failed to make it onto the scoreboard. INDY Team #11 finished the regular season in 3rd place, and they will play Legendz next week in the playoffs. They have a bye next week and will play the following week. The loss dropped Soccer Scrubs down to the #6 seed. They’ll face Velvet Taquitos in round one of the playoffs.
Freight FC (2-2-2) vs. The Ball Handlers (1-5) – Tuesday, August 6, 2019
Freight FC controlled this game in shut out fashion against The Ball Handlers with a final score of 2-0. Alex had one goal. Shout-out to goalkeeper, Trevor, for the shutout! Freight FC finished the regular season in 7th place, and they will play JLL in the playoffs next week. The Ball Handlers were unable to get rolling on offense in this one, but they’ve had 5 overall goals this season. The losing team still had notable players including Alex, who kicked one goal for The Ball Handlers. It was a rough regular season for The Ball Handlers, who finished as the 13th place seed. They’ll face the Benchwarmer FC in their first playoff matchup.
Velvet Taquitos (2-4) vs. Beercelona (2-3-1) – Tuesday, August 6, 2019
Velvet Taquitos and Beercelona competed in a low scoring affair, combining for three goals. Velvet Taquitos took home the 2-1 victory. Gursharan Bains kicked two goals to help earn the club the win. Beercelona really were unable to get rolling on offense in this one, scoring fewer than their average of 1.8 GPG this season. Connor Welby scored the only goal for Beercelona to prevent the shutout. Velvet Taquitos finished the regular season in 11th place, and they will play Soccer Scrubs in the first week of the playoffs. It just wasn’t their season as Beercelona finished as the 10th place seed. They’ll face IRI BIG DATA BIG KICKS for a shot at the championship.
IRI BIG DATA BIG KICKS (2-2-2) vs. Muchas Ganas FC (0-6) – Tuesday, August 6, 2019
IRI BIG DATA BIG KICKS beat Muchas Ganas FC 5-1 in this week’s match. It’s week 6 and Muchas Ganas FC have only scored a total of 5 goals all season. Roberto Santos scored the only goal for Muchas Ganas FC to prevent the shutout. With no wins this season, it’s no surprise Muchas Ganas FC finished as the 14th place seed. They’ll face Yeovil in the first round next week. Kyle Breitenbach racked up a hat trick to lead the crew’s offense. IRI BIG DATA BIG KICKS finished the regular season in 7th place, and they will play Beercelona next week in the playoffs.
Thunder (5-1) vs. Cuervos F.C. (5-1) – Tuesday, August 6, 2019
Thunder shut out Cuervos F.C. with a final score of just 1-0. This is Cuervos F.C.’s first loss of the season but it didn’t impact their #1 ranking in the league. The losing team still had notable players including Courtney, who kicked one goal for Cuervos F.C. Even with a loss this week, Cuervos F.C. was so far ahead in the rankings, they locked in the #1 seed for playoffs. They’ll face the winner of Beercelona and IRI BIG DATA BIG KICKS. Thunder continued their winning streak this week and are officially on fire. The defenders are the unsung heroes of this match for helping Jose Ortiz earn a shutout. Thunder finished the regular season in 1st place, and they will play the winner of the 8th vs 9th place play-in game. They have a bye next week and will play the winner of JLL and Freight FC.
Benchwarmer FC (4-2) vs. JLL (2-2-2) – Tuesday, August 6, 2019
The #7 seed, JLL, forfeited to the #4 seed, Benchwarmer FC. Benchwarmer FC finished the regular season in 4th place, and they will play The Ball Handlers next week. This week’s loss didn’t help their record for playoffs and JLL ended up as the #7 seed. They’ll face Freight FC in the first week of playoffs.
