Indy Team #2 (3-5) vs. The Tanglers (2-5) – Sunday, June 9, 2019

The #7 seed, Indy Team #2, matched up against the #9 seed, The Tanglers in this Quarter-Final game.  The Tanglers didn’t have their best stuff on offense in this game, and suffered a shutout, with a final score of 2-0. The Tanglers’s loss means they are done in this single-elimination playoff schedule. To secure the win, Indy Team #2 had goals from Adnan Haider and Max Levine. Indy Team #2 advanced to semi-finals, and without a week to rest, jumped right into it as a double header. See how they did by reading the next recap.

Kickball Rejects (3-5) vs. discov3r w33kly (2-5) – Sunday, June 9, 2019

It was an exciting Quarter-Final games, in which the #7 seed, Kickball Rejects, squeaked by with a 1-point win against the #9 seed, discov3r w33kly 2-1. Adam Korte scored the only goal for discov3r w33kly to save them from a shutout, hile Juan Mora and Erin Dees delivered the win for Kickball Rejects . Hopefully the loss doesn’t haunt discov3r w33kly too much. There’s always next season.  This win advanced Kickball Rejects to semi-finals, which was played as a double header. For Fuchs Sake (7-0) vs. Kickball Rejects (3-5) – Sunday, June 9, 2019

In this Quarter-Final game, the #1 seed, For Fuchs Sake, took on the #7 seed, Kickball Rejects. For Fuchs Sake advanced to semi-finals with their 6-0 win. Scoring for the victors was Javier and Bianca, who both had two goals, while Jacqueline McNeill and Andy Adams both had one. They’re just two games away from the championship title. Kickball Rejects had two games this week. They struggled in this match, and they now sit in 7th place in the standings. Kickball Rejects is done with playoffs, which means it’s time for a team meeting at the bar to regroup for next season!

Toe Ballers (7-1) vs. Indy Team #2 (3-5) – Sunday, June 9, 2019

In this Quarter-Final game, the #2 seed, Toe Ballers, took on the #7 seed, Indy Team #2. The last time these two teams met in week 4, Toe Ballers won 4-2. This time around, the results weren’t much different, with Toe Ballers taking home the win 4-0.  Indy Team #2 had a double header. In contrast to their other game, they couldn’t string together the plays they needed for a win, and they now sit in 7th place in the standings. Hopefully the loss doesn’t haunt Indy Team #2 too much. There’s always next season. Scoring for Toe Ballers was Case Guevara-Lehker and Travis Woyner with one and Ryan Loris with two. The win for Toe Ballers means a ticket to semi-finals. Whichever team emerges as the winner will advance to the championship game.

Game of Throw Ins (4-3) vs. Brunch So Hard (1-6) – Sunday, June 9, 2019

Game of Throw Ins were coming off their top offensive game of the season, scoring 4 goals last week. Additionally, they were the higher ranked #5 seed playing the #11 seed, Brunch So Hard. They took the win to advance to Semi-Finals with a score of 4-1. The offense was led by a combination of Phil S and Mike S who both had one goal, and Jimmy with his two goals. It’s week 10 and Brunch So Hard have only scored a total of 2 goals all season. James Mitchell scored the only goal for Brunch So Hard to prevent the shutout. On the bright side for Brunch So Hard, this loss means they can save their legs and recharge for next season.  This week’s win advances Game of Throw Ins to semi-finals.

Real Team (4-4) vs. Generals (1-6) – Sunday, June 9, 2019

Real Team were coming off their top offensive game of the season, scoring 4 goals last week. Additionally, they were the higher ranked #6 seed playing the #11 seed, Generals. They just barely took the win to advance to Semi-Finals with a final score of 2-1. Generals really brought their best on D in spite of losing, surrendering fewer than their average of 2.9 goals against per game this year. Tom scored the only goal for Generals to prevent the shutout, while Colin Maloney scored both the goals for the victors. Real Team advance to semi-finals where they’re just two games away from the championship title. Unfortunately for Generals, this loss means the end of their season.
