Peaked in High School (7-0-1) vs. Chicago Cougars (3-3-2) – Saturday, June 08, 2019

Peaked in High School, the #1 seed, took on Chicago Cougars, the #4 seed, in this Semi-Final game. These two teams met in week 5, and had a very well-matched game resulting in a 1-1 tie. It was anyone’s guess who might win this time around.  This game ended 3-1 in favor of Peaked in High School. Guillermo Alvarez scored the only goal for Chicago Cougars to save them from a shutout. For the victors, Willie Filion lead the squad with a hat trick.  Hopefully the loss doesn’t haunt Chicago Cougars too much. There’s always next season.  They dominated in the regular season, and it’s no surprise Peaked in High School advanced to the Championship game. Read the recap below to find out how they did.

Jimmy Savile’s U10s (5-2-1) vs. Squad Goals (6-2) – Saturday, June 08, 2019

In this Semi-Final game, the #2 seed, Squad Goals, took on the #3 seed, Jimmy Savile’s U10s. Jimmy Savile’s U10s took home the victory by a score of 2-0, shutting out Squad Goals. Their offense was lead by the combination of Christ Stein and Karim Maalouf, who both had one goal.  Squad Goals had a great run this season, but they will not be advancing to the next round of playoffs. The semi-final win for Jimmy Savile’s U10s advanced them to the championship game. Read the Championship recap below to see how they finished.

In this Championship Game, the #1 team, Peaked in High School played the #3 team, Jimmy Savile’s U10s, for the coveted Chicago Sport and Social Club long-sleeve champ shirts to forever capture their moment of glory. This battle for the ages ended with a score of 4-0 in favor of Peaked in High School. Their scoring came from a combination of players, with Jake U and Luke scoring one and Willie Filion scoring 2. Jimmy Savile’s U10s had two games this week. Sadly, they lost both matches putting them at a 2-game losing streak. Losing the championship game is never easy, but Jimmy Savile’s U10s lost with grace. We hope to see them back next season for another chance at the title. Congratulations to Peaked in High School on a great season and their championship win! We hope to see this squad return to defend their title.
