ESPN: The Ocho (7-1) vs. NM FC (5-3) – Monday, July 29, 2019

No one expected this Quarter-Finals games to be such a close one. ESPN: The Ocho, the #1 seed just squeaked by in this 1-point game to beat the #9 seed, NM FC. NM FC really were unable to get rolling in terms of scoring in this one, scoring fewer than their average of 1.9 GPG for the season. Sergio Cruz scored the only goal for NM FC to save them from a shutout.  NM FC have an extra week of rest coming up with a coveted bye. This week, ESPN: The Ocho was fired up for a double header. They won both matches, which means they’re officially heating up! Matt Allain leads ESPN: The Ocho this season in scoring and added another goal to their stats this week bringing Matt Allain’s personal total to 13. Shane Decker scored the other goal to lead the team to victory. ESPN: The Ocho played again in the quarter-finals, check below to see how they did.

Game of Throw-Ins (6-2) vs. Team Awesome (4-2-2) – Monday, July 29, 2019

In this Quarter-Finals game, the #2 seed, Game of Throw-Ins, took on the #4 seed, Team Awesome. Game of Throw-Ins had two games this week. Both matches were victories, which means they’re heating up! Braden Candliff is the goalkeeper credited with the shutout for Game of Throw-Ins. Helping on the offense, Ben had a hattrick while Joe and Katelyn scored one in the playoff win for Game of Throw-Ins.  Team Awesome have an extra week of rest coming up with a coveted bye.  Game of Throw-Ins played again this week, check below to see how they did.

u/11 superstars (5-3) vs. Upper Middle 90 (2-6) – Monday, July 29, 2019

u/11 superstars, the #9 seed, matched up against Upper Middle 90, the #20 seed, in this Quarter-Finals game. The last time these two teams met in week 5, u/11 superstars won 3-1. The results weren’t much different this time around.  Upper Middle 90 have had a rough season. It’s week 8 and they’ve only scored a total of 5 goals. u/11 superstars was fired up for a double header this week. This was the better played match, which helped them claim their #9 rank in the standings table. In the win Cassidy scored two goals while Alex J scored the third goal for the win!  u/11 superstars had another game this week, see how they did below.

Avocado Discoballs (5-2-1) vs. Jazz (2-6) – Monday, July 29, 2019

It was an exciting Quarter-Finals matches, in which the #6 seed, Avocado Discoballs, squeaked by with a 1-point win against the #20 seed, Jazz. This was one of two games for Avocado Discoballs this week. This was the better played match, which helped them lock in their #6 rank in the standings table. The two MVPs in this close match were the goalkeeper for Avocado Discoballs, Alex, who had a shutout, and Hannah Mitchem who scored the only goal of the game. Jazz were unable to get rolling on offense in this one, and suffered a shutout. The losing team still had notable players including Damian Soane, who tallied one goal for Jazz. Game of Throw-Ins (6-2) vs. Winded City FC (6-1-1) – Monday, July 29, 2019

Going into this game Winded City FC had 6 wins this season, 26 total goals, and hunger for a playoff win. Game of Throw-Ins came ready for a double header this week. Both matches were victories, which means they’re officially heating up! Mike Mullins is the goalkeeper credited with the shutout for Game of Throw-Ins. Helping on the offense, Ben was among those who scored in this playoff win for Game of Throw-Ins. Game of Throw-Ins plays Balls Deep next week in the semi-finals.

ESPN: The Ocho (7-1) vs. Net Six and Chill (6-1-1) – Monday, July 29, 2019

It was an exciting Quarter-Finals match-ups, in which the #1 seed, ESPN: The Ocho, squeaked by with a 1-point win against the #1 seed, Net Six and Chill. Derek Fujii scored the only goal for Net Six and Chill to save them from a shutout. ESPN: The Ocho was fired up for a double header this week. They won both matches, which means they’re heating up! Matt Allain leads ESPN: The Ocho this season in scoring and added 2 goals to their stats this week bringing Matt Allain’s personal total to 13.  ESPN: The Ocho will play AD/HK in the semi-finals.

Balls Deep (5-0-3) vs. u/11 superstars (5-3) – Monday, July 29, 2019

Balls Deep, the #2 seed, matched up against u/11 superstars, the #9 seed, in this Quarter-Finals game.  They’re on fire. Josh Mah leads Balls Deep this season in scoring and added another goal to their stats this week bringing Josh Mah’s personal total to 5. Balls Deep have an extra week of rest coming up with a coveted bye. u/11 superstars had a double header this week. This was the tougher match of the two, and they now sit in 9th place in the standings.  Balls Deep will play Game of Throw-Ins in the semi-finals.

AD/HK (6-3) vs. Avocado Discoballs (5-2-1) – Monday, July 29, 2019

It was an exciting Quarter-Finals matches, in which the #3 seed, AD/HK, squeaked by with a 1-point win against the #6 seed, Avocado Discoballs. They’re on fire. The two MVPs in this close match were the goalkeeper for AD/HK, Max Sternberg, who had a shutout, and  who scored the only goal of the game. AD/HK will play ESPN: The Ocho in the semi-finals next week.
