Loose Balls (3-5) vs. The Boozers FC (2-4-1) – Monday, July 22, 2019

The Boozers FC forfeited and handed a free win to Loose Balls in this match-up. Loose Balls was fired up for a double header. This was the better played match, which helped them lock in their #6 rank in the standings table. The Boozers FC forfeit this week’s match-up. Loose Balls had another game this week so check out the recap below to see how they did. The Boozers FC has officially been eliminated from playoff contention and looks for next season to make an impact.

Indy Team 3 (2-4-2) vs. GT Soccer (2-5) – Monday, July 22, 2019

Indy Team 3 controlled this game in shut out fashion against GT Soccer with a final score of 2-0. GT Soccer didn’t have their best stuff on offense in this game, and failed to make it onto the scoreboard. Indy Team 3 was fired up for a double header. This was the better played match, which helped them lock in their #6 rank in the standings table. Daniel Omahoney and Adam Janic both scored one goal. The defenders are the unsung heroes of this match for helping Chelsea Watkins earn a shut out.  GT Soccer has been eliminated and will regroup for next season. Net Six and Chill (6-0-1) vs. Indy Team 3 (2-4-2) – Monday, July 22, 2019

Net Six and Chill beat Indy Team 3 3-1 in this game. This was one of two games for Indy Team 3. This was the tougher match of the two, and they now sit in 6th place in the standings. Jon Linn scored the only goal for Indy Team 3 to get their team on the board.  Indy Team has now officially been eliminated from playoff contention though they survived the first round. Leo Hamza, Ryan Cohen, and Courtney McHugh each netted one goal to help earn the group the W. Next week, Net Six and Chill will play in the quarterfinals for a shot at the championship

Winded City FC (6-0-1) vs. Loose Balls (3-5) – Monday, July 22, 2019

Winded City FC shut out Loose Balls with a final score of just 1-0. Winded City FC continued their winning streak this week and are officially on fire. Andy Malnor prevented the team’s loss by scoring their only goal. The club’s goalkeeper, Brent Myers, got a clean sheet in this one. Loose Balls had two games this week. Sometimes double headers help you get in a groove, other times they lead to heavy legs, but instead they ended up widening their goal differential gap to 89. Next week, Winded City FC will try to remain perfect in the quarterfinals. Loose Balls is done for the season after this playoff loss.

AD/HK (5-3) vs. Echo Madness (1-5-1) – Monday, July 22, 2019

Earning the same result as they did earlier this season, AD/HK won the second go-around against Echo Madness. This game finished with a final score of 3-1.   Manuel Segovia scored the only goal for Echo Madness to get their team on the board. This week, AD/HK was fired up for a double header. They won both matches, which means they’re heating up! Matthew Trybula, Austin Andrekus, and Gi Samair each kicked one goal to help earn the squad the win.   Echo Madness is done for the season following their loss. Next up for AD/HK is a a showdown in the quarterfinals.

INDY Team #1 (2-5-1) vs. Boarding Group 6 (2-3-2) – Monday, July 22, 2019

The underdog, INDY Team #1 (currently ranked 18th in the league) beat the favored Boarding Group 6 (currently ranked 5th) with a final score of 1-0. This week, INDY Team #1 was fired up for a double header. This was the better played match, which helped them claim their #18 rank in the standings table. To steer the team’s attack, Maddie Murphy prevented the loss by scoring their only goal.  Shout-out to goalkeeper, Addison Briody, for the shutout! Boarding Group 6 struggled to get it going on offense in this one, and couldn’t seem to find the back of the net.  INDY Team #1 kept going in the playoffs this week, check out below how they did.   Boarding Group Six has now been eliminated and must regroup before next season

Balls Deep (4-0-3) vs. INDY Team #1 (2-5-1) – Monday, July 22, 2019

Balls Deep played well here and blanked INDY Team #1 with a final score of 2-0. This was one of two games for INDY Team #1 this week. This was the tougher match of the two, and they now sit in 18th place in the standings. INDY Team #1’s season is done following this playoff loss. Balls Deep are heating up with two wins in a row. Josh Mah and Tina made one goal. The defense are the unsung heroes of this match for helping Max earn a shut-out. Balls Deep will seek to stay unblemished on Monday in the next round of playoffs

AD/HK (5-3) vs. Soccer Hotties (4-2-1) – Monday, July 22, 2019

In this match, AD/HK beat Soccer Hotties 4-1. Soccer Hotties really were unable to get rolling on offense in this game, scoring less than their average of 2.3 GPG for the year.  Soccer Hotties sadly ends their season after this loss.  AD/HK had two games this week. Incredibly, they won both matches, which means they’re heating up! Austin Andrekus racked up a hat trick to lead the squad’s offense and Matt had the other goal.  Quarterfinals are next for AD/HK, as they look to keep it going.

NM FC (5-2) vs. The Purple Kixie Sticks (0-7) – Monday, July 22, 2019

As was the case earlier this season, NM FC won the rematch against The Purple Kixie Sticks. This game finished with a final score of 3-0.  NM FC seems to have found their groove and has won two games in a row. Muhammad Mutawakkil, Paige Strobel, and Meghan Schick each scored one goal. Shout-out to goalie, John Caushi, for the shutout! ESPN: The Ocho are next up on the docket for NM FC, as they look to keep it going in the next round of playoffs.  The Purple Kixie Sticks were unable to get rolling on the offensive end in this one, and couldn’t seem to find the back of the net.  The Purple Kixie Sticks will now regroup for next season after being eliminated from playoff contention.  

Team Awesome (4-1-2) vs. Avocados FC (0-6-1) – Monday, July 22, 2019

Team Awesome beat Avocados FC 6-1 in this game. Avocados FC have had a rough season. It’s week 7 and they’ve only scored a total of 5 goals. Ricardo Ortiz scored the only goal for Avocados FC to save them from a shutout.  Avocados FC’s season is now over and they will have to look forward to next season for another shot at the championship. Simon Lockwood-Bean and Evan Williamson both netted two goals and earned the most tallies on the scoresheet, while Trevor Wolf and Caroline B both had one.  Game of Throw-Ins are next up on the schedule for Team Awesome, as they look to keep it going in the next week of playoffs. 

Upper Middle 90 (2-5) vs. INDY Team #10 (4-3) – Monday, July 22, 2019

The underdog, Upper Middle 90 (currently ranked 19th in the league) defeated the favored INDY Team #10 (currently ranked 12th) with a final score of 2-0. INDY Team #10 struggled to get it going on offense in this game, and came short of making it onto the scoreboard. This victory for the Upper Middle 90 came as a pleasant surprise considering it’s more than halfway through the season and they have only scored less than a handful goals. Upper Middle 90’s goalkeeper kept their net clean. Nick Watson and Ben Lloyd both led their team to victory to help earn the team the win with one goal apiece. INDY Team #10 is done for the season and looks towards next season to write a different story. u/11 superstars are next up on the docket for Upper Middle 90, as they look to keep it going in playoffs.

Jazz (2-5) vs. Go the distance (2-4-1) – Monday, July 22, 2019

Jazz shut out Go the distance with a final score of just 1-0. Jazz really stepped up on the defensive end, beating their season goals against average of 1.4  goals per game.  To help earn the club the W, Ignatius Boakai prevented the loss by scoring their only goal.  Shout-out to keeper, Gregg, for the shutout! Go the distance struggled to get it going on offense in this game, and suffered a shutout. Next up for Jazz is a throwdown against Avocado Disocoballs in the next round of playoffs. Go the distance is now done for the season after the loss.
