Net Breakers (2-5-2) vs. INDY Team #3 (2-6) – Friday, May 31, 2019
Net Breakers were coming off their top offensive game of the season, scoring 5 goals last week. Additionally, they were the higher ranked #3 seed playing the #5 seed, INDY Team #3. They just barely took the win to advance to Semi-Finals. Kevin scored the only goal for INDY Team #3 to get their team on the board. For the victors, their offense was lead by goals from Leon Corriea and Jonathan Portugal. This is the end of the road for INDY Team #3’s run in this league. There’s always next season! This win advanced Net Breakers to semi-finals, which was played as a double header. The exciting recap of that game is below.
Team America (6-0-1) vs. Net Breakers (2-5-2) – Friday, May 31, 2019
Heading into this Semi-Final games, Net Breakers were coming off their top offensive game of the season, scoring 5 goals last week. Team America confidently took the win to advance to the Championship Game by defeating Net Breakers 7-2. The scoring was lead by Mihte with 3 goals and one goal each from Mike Dash, Emily, Allison, Caitlyn. They dominated in the regular season, and it’s no surprise Team America advanced to the Championship game. This was one of two games for Net Breakers this week. In contrast to their other game, they couldn’t string together the plays they needed for a win, and they now sit in 3rd place in the standings. Brian was the star player for Net Breakers this week. They scored all two goals for them. Unfortunately for Net Breakers, this loss means the end of their season.
The Toe (5-1-2) vs. Rooney Toons (2-5-1) – Friday, May 31, 2019
Heading into this Semi-Final games, Rooney Toons were coming off their top offensive game of the season, scoring 5 goals last week. They played well and took the win to advance to the Championship Game by a score of 3-1. Rooney Toons were unable to get rolling on the offensive end in this game, scoring fewer than their average of 1.5 goals per game for the season. Peter Romanchuk scored the only goal for Rooney Toons to prevent the shutout. Rooney Toons had a difficult run this season and they will not be advancing to the next round of playoffs. For The Toe, their offense lead the team to victory with goals from Gustavo Grau Bolivar, Michael Gomez, and Peter Hawkins. The semi-final win for The Toe advanced them to the championship game.
