Notorious B.I.G. (6-3) vs. Still Ballin (4-4) – Thursday, May 31, 2018
It was an exciting Quarter-Final game, in which the #3 seed, Notorious B.I.G., squeaked by with a 1-point win against the #4 seed, Still Ballin, by a final score of 52-51. This team really showed some grit in this battle, winning, despite scoring less than their average points per game of 60.6. For Notorious B.I.G., Qashaun S had 13 points leading the teams offensive charge. Still Ballin really didn’t have their best stuff in this one, scoring less than their average of 63.3 PPG this year, despite an MVP performance from Caleb Demoss who scored 17 points. This win advanced Notorious B.I.G. to semi-finals, which was played as a double header. The exciting recap of that game is below. Still Ballin is done for the season and we hope to see them return for the start of the new league coming up soon.
One Time (8-2) vs. Notorious B.I.G. (6-3) – Thursday, May 31, 2018
This Semi-Final game found One Time, the #2 seed, matched up against Notorious B.I.G., the #3 seed. These pair faced off back in week 4 and Notorious B.I.G. won 68-65, this time around though, the tables were turned. By the score of 62-38, One Time got a hugely lopsided win against Notorious B.I.G.. One Time really stepped up on defense in this game, beating their season points against average of 53.4 points per game by a significant margin. Jay Alexander had a nice stellar night on offense with 16 points to help get the team the W. Notorious B.I.G. really were unable to get rolling on offense in this game, scoring less than their average of 60.6 points per game this year. The leading scorer for Notorious B.I.G. was Ronell with a nice 15 points. The semi-final win for One Time advanced them to the championship game, read the Championship recap below to see how they finished. Unfortunately for Notorious B.I.G., this loss means the end of their season, but we hope to see B.I.G. things from them next season!
LFG (9-1) vs. Eskimo Bros (7-2) – Thursday, May 31, 2018
Eskimo Bros forfeited to LFG in their semi-final match. They dominated in the regular season, and it’s no surprise LFG advanced to the Championship game. Read the recap below to find out how they did. Unfortunately for Eskimo Bros, this signals the end of their season.
LFG (9-1) vs. One Time (8-2) – Thursday, May 31, 2018
It was a Championship Game written for the movies. The #1 team, LFG played the #2 team, One Time for the prestigious long-sleeve shirts forever capturing the moment of glory. The match saw LFG cruise to a great W by the score of 53-38, to earn their fourth-straight win and continue to roll against One Time. This team really buckled down in this battle emerging victorious despite scoring less than their average points per game of 83.7. For LFG, Andrew Klupchak had 18 points driving offense and leading their team to victory. One Time really didn’t have their best stuff in this game, scoring fewer than their average of 65.8 points per game for the season. Congratulations to LFG on a great season and their championship win! We hope to see this squad return to defend their title. Being one of the top two teams, One Time was optimistic heading into the championship match, so this loss is a tough one. But they definitely have what it takes to win and we expect to see them doing well again next season.
