Kickball
Ah, the sport of the schoolyard, the one place where hitting the batter is allowed, as long as it’s with a large, red ball. Players Sports Group has a co-ed 10-on-10 league beginning June 6. Weekly games start at 6:15 p.m. Fridays at DePaul University (920 W. Belden Ave.). Registration is $819 per team for early birds through May 23; $869 after. 773-528-1999.
Dodgeball
Get your smack (or swerve) on with the Chicago Sport and Social Club. Its summer league begins June 22, with weekly games starting at 12:30 p.m. Saturdays at the club’s gym (950 W. Weed St.). Registration is $95 for individuals, $725 for teams. Teams can have an unlimited number of players but only eight can be on the field at one time. 312-335-9596.
Soccer
Hey, there’s a reason this game has lasted hundreds of years. The Chicago Park District’s league begins June 16. Games run Saturdays at noon and Sundays after 9 a.m. at Cornell Square Park (1809 W. 50th St.). Registration is $375 per team (20 person limit). 312-747-6097.
